Ameer ul Azeem

Amirul Azim was born in 1958 in Lahore. He passed Matriculation from Islamia School, Sant Nagar and FSC from Islamia College Railway Road, BSc with Physics Double Math from Islamia College Civil Lines, and MBA from Punjab University.

Amir-ul-Azeem had been associated with Islamic Jamiat students since his school days. He was the elected President of Punjab University Students' Union, and later served as the General Manager of Islamic Students' Union. During the student era, Amirul Azim led a long march for the revival of student union during the Zia-ul-Haq era and endured the hardships of prison for it.

Amirul Azim was the Central Information Secretary of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan for a long time. After that, he served as Secretary General and Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Lahore, later served as Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami Central Punjab. After his second election in 2019, Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Siraj-ul-Haq appointed Ameer-ul-Azeem as the Central Secretary General of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan on the advice of the Central Majlis Shura.

Amirul Azim played an important role in the Lawyers Movement. The tear gas shell fired by the police in the long march of Chief Justice Mahabhatta hit him on the head, due to which he was seriously injured, even today the deep wound from the shell is visible on his forehead. In the by-elections of 2002, Amir-ul-Azeem participated on the platform of Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal on the provincial seat of Lahore. In this election, the Muslim League-Nawaz, influenced by the lively election campaign against the candidate of the ruling party formed under the shadow of the then dictator Pervez Musharraf, withdrew its candidate in favor of Amirul Azim, but due to the worst government rigging. Amirul Azim's apparent victory was turned into defeat.
