Question: A member of our Jamaat (who has achieved the blessing of Hajj) said in a gathering that the respected Maulana has written in Farheeh that if a person performs Umrah before Hajj during the Hajj season, he should make a sacrifice. But no sacrifice is offered after Umrah in Makkah. In it, he has referred to the translation of Al-Quran Volume 1, Surah Al-Baqarah, Verse 196, which is as follows: "So whoever takes advantage of Umrah from you until the time of Hajj comes, let him sacrifice as much as he can..." Sacrifice should be given, but what is meant is that the sacrifice is obligatory in the Qur'an, and the explanation you have given at the end of paragraph 213 about taking advantage of Umrah until the time of Hajj is reached. But they insist that the statement is not clear. However, if you consider it appropriate, please explain this issue further so that there is no possibility of misunderstanding." Answer: In Surah Al-Baqarah verse 196, three rules are mentioned separately, (1) When a person has put on Ihram for Hajj or Umrah and then there is an obstacle such that it is not possible to reach the Haram, then he should should be sent and should not come out of Ihram until the sacrificial offering is done. (2) If there is no obstacle and Ami has reached the Haram, then he has to offer a sacrifice in the form of Tamattu or Qiran. However, in the case of individuals, it will not be wajib.
